We will need to know you better to serve you better. We will also describe to you the bouquet of services we provide. On your initial consultation, we’ll request some basic medical information relating to your case which will help us prequalify including:
- Your physical needs and potential limitations
- Your emotional needs and mental attitude
- Your concerns
- Your expectations
- Your budget
- Your time frame
- And, perhaps, your next steps moving forward
By discussing these points, we can determine if medical travel is right for you, and if so, together we can find the best overall value based on your medical and personal needs.
The road to ‘Getting well’ – your decision to move forward
- Enter Getwell Service Membership and select the different service packages we offer that meet your personal requirements.
- You will be asked to sign a form which will give us your consent to collect and disseminate your personal information. You will also be presented with standard waivers for medical travel that you would need to read carefully and sign.
Ultrasound, MRI, CT scans, Blood work-up, Photos, etc.
For most medical procedures, your doctor will need to see the investigations done and treatments you have already gone through. It would be a great help if we can talk to your local treating doctor as well.
Your consultant physician will have an extensive conversation with you to understand your medical needs, prepare a detailed case summary, treatment expectations and other medical relevant information and will communicate with the network of our health care providers designing the available treatment options for your specific needs. The doctor will give you a further appointment to discuss the outcome of the discussion made with the partner healthcare providers.
When you return as per your scheduled visit, the doctor will discuss with you the findings including the type of treatment you will receive and the hospitals you could go to, the approximate number of days you would need for the treatment, and an approximate medical cost you may incur for the treatment. Whilst we provide you with detailed information, the decision as to where you receive the treatment will rest with you and your care takers. In the mean time we will entertain any questions or issues you may have.
- Book Your Procedure(s) :
We will request your chosen doctor’s consultation and surgery date(s). Once we receive notice that these dates are available, we can move to tentatively book your air travel and hotel accommodations. - Book your Air Travel :
You will be directed to speak with our travel specialists to develop an air travel itinerary that best suits your needs. - Book your Hotel Room :
We will tentatively book your hotel room. You will need to provide your credit card information (if you have any) at this time. Your card will not be charged in advance, but, only used as a method of reserving your room. Once you arrive at the hotel, you can either choose to use the same card, or another card to settle your bill upon check-out. If you do not have a credit card we will provide alternative payment options to help you secure a booking.
Please note that before traveling, we will provide you with a host of information about the destination you’ll be traveling to and your available support in the destination country.
When you arrive in the destination country, you will be greeted by our partners and escorted to your Hotel or directly to the hospital depending on your appointment.
- Within 24 hours of your arrival, you will visit your physician’s office for the pre-treatment consultation. Here, the doctor/s will further review your medical transcripts and conduct additional tests, if required, to ensure that you are ready for your treatment. You can rest assured that Treatment will be provided by the best available Doctor, at a world-class medical facility, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and Technology.
When the doctor is satisfied with your condition, you will be released from the hospital and driven back to your hotel to begin the recuperation process. At the permission of your doctor, you may enjoy some of the interesting attraction of your destination while recovering either through the Hotel or via our preferred Tourism operators. Once your Doctor declares you fit to travel, you will be dropped off at the airport and board your flight to your loved ones.
After returning home, Getwell will check with you if all has gone well after treatment and ensure maximum satisfaction from your medical adventure. You will receive a follow-up appointment to come and visit our office in Addis Ababa. Here using our telemedicine facility you, our house doctors and you’re treating doctors abroad discuss your treatment outcome and any further issues you may have.
